Like seriously, why isn’t pole dancing an olympic sport? This is freakin gymnastics. This is strength and skill. This is not sexual whatsoever. Why does pole dancing have to be so stigmatised as a sexual thing that only strippers do? I have great respect for all people who can pull this off. This is art and beauty right here.

This is absolutely strength and skill and it’s quite amazing. But I’m also super-uncomfortable with the implication that the stigmatization of its origins is *okay*, that it’s *better* now that it’s suddenly “clean”, and that the women who developed it should be erased/removed from its context. They made it. They deserve to keep being acknowledged for it. This is how women’s contributions get erased from history: because they’re the wrong kind of women, because they’re too sexy, because they’re from the wrong classes/ranks. Etc. Etc. So let’s not do that.

Favorite Herald demons in Shin Megami Tensei

  • Seraph
  • Kazfiel
  • Aniel
  • Tzaphkiel

I always enjoyed the fact that Kazuma Kaneko tends to do his own thing with angelic design, referencing older texts and art works as inspiration instead of just re-purposing the ‘human with feathers’ motif.

Interested in knowing the history behind some of the demon designs? Kaneko’s Crib Notes, located here, is a gold mine for such knowledge.
